Amber Anderson
William Shakespeare first attracted Ms. Anderson to theatre back in the tenth grade
when she played Hermia (Midsummer) in her school’s Shakespeare Festival. Her interest
in the Bard’s works lured her to Southern Utah University, home of the Tony Award
Winning Utah Shakespearean Festival, for her bachelor’s in theatre arts. While playing
Rosaline in Love’s Labours Lost, Ms. Anderson immersed herself in the language and
really fell in love with Mr. Shakespeare. Following her undergraduate experience,
she worked professionally for the Utah Shakespearean Festival in a variety of jobs,
including as an actor for the School Tour of Macbeth and enjoyed conducting workshops
with students everywhere: from Navajo reservations to Phoenix private schools. As
a high school theatre teacher and director for nine years, she has enjoyed directing
and/or designing for A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Taming of the Shrew, Macbeth, and
Love’s Labours Lost. At Poudre she has directed 43 Plays for 43 Presidents, Romeo
and Juliet, and This Is A Test. Ms. Anderson’s day job includes teaching MYP Theatre,
HL Theatre, U.S. Lit, and Composition. She enjoys spending time with her amazingly
supportive husband Morgan and dancing with her beautiful daughters, Kendyl and Emmry.
